Titanium Gyrocopter

This simple Blog relates to the Titanium Explorer gyrocopter - designed and built in Australia this tandem two seat gyro is built around a titanium main frame and fitted with either a Rotax 912 or 914 engine.

The Blog will attempt to follow Explorer production and deliveries - more information and more  photographs from pilots and owners are always welcomed.



Note - On 30th March 2019 ASRA issued Safety Directive 2019-01 which states - "Directive. With immediate effect, all gyroplanes manufactured by the Titanium Aircraft Group (TAG) are grounded until further notice."

Note - Unknown Explorer involved in accident 13th Feb 2020 at Mildura airfield, Victoria - The ATSB summary states "During take-off, the gyrocopter struck a fence resulting in substantial damage."

 Note - Safety Alert issued December 2020 for Titanium gyros 058, 059 and 060 ( all 2020 built ) - "TAG will remove the masts from the 3 affected gyroplanes and have them repaired and heat treated before returning them to service"
